Tournament Results and Recap

First we want to say a big thank you to the flexibility of the teams to shift to a new facility a week or so before the tournament. And an even bigger thank you to Dayton High School's volleyball coach for letting us use their facility for the day. Not only did Megan have the gym looking amazing, she was playing music and making the environment a welcoming place.

Due to the Easter holiday and a competing tournament in Centralia, we only had six women's teams competing. Small in numbers but mighty in play! It was great to meet and see new faces and welcome them into this volleyball community. New teams that competed were WOU Women's Club team and Maya's team while Ally and Team BTA had a few new faces. Helen's Angels and Lei came ready with their rosters - why change a good thing!

Pool play was split into two three-team pools playing two 21pt sets. There were some splits and tough matches. We got done with pool play around 10:30am which allowed our non-profit connection to give a great overview of Community Warehouse and how they serve their communities.

As we headed into bracket play, we saw some amazing volleyball. Teams came ready to fight through the double elimination bracket. And our officials did a great job of facilitating the play. Big thank you to Lisa Walter and Alicia Provost for their game calling and recognizing the adult women's landscape.

We ended bracket play in the same place we've ended the last few tournaments - Helen's Angels vs Lei. Helen's Angel's took the first match in bracket play, forcing Lei to drop down into the loser bracket and having to fight their way back to the finals. Luckily for Lei's team, they could handle the challenge! In the end, Helen's Angels took the championship match without having to go into a double final. There were big hits, great digs and some fantastic volley's. Inspiring to see and fun to be a part of!

Thanks again to our community. We could not do this without you!

1st Place - Women's Team - Helen's Angels

We’re your friendly local furniture bank, serving the Portland area for over 20 years. How does a furniture bank work? In a nutshell, we collect donated home goods, and work with social service agencies to get those goods in the hands of those who need it most.

The stuff you no longer need becomes the solution for a family in need of essential home furnishings. Pretty simple, huh? At Community Warehouse, it’s the simple stuff – the extra dishes, towels, beds, and more – that changes lives.

How to Get Involved:

Drop off your donations at our furniture banks located in Portland and Tualatin.
Make a monetary donation to furnish homes for families in need.
Visit our Estate Stores to shop for a cause.
